Àbákẹ́ Books & Cafe is a Black Queer woman-owned bookstore and cafe offering specialty coffee sourced from Africa alongside a curated collection of books celebrating the African diaspora, including titles for children and adults. The space also hosts community events, workshops, and creative shoots.
The name Àbákẹ́ - meaning "to be loved" in Yoruba - was discovered by the owner during genealogy research into her family's oldest known ancestor. Five percent of proceeds support literacy and community initiatives.
