Charlotte Yarn has operated out of the Kenilworth Commons Shopping Center at 1235 East Blvd., Suite D, in Charlotte, NC since 2005, making it, by its own description, "the oldest yarn store in the Charlotte, NC area." Founder Remi has guided the shop through two decades in business, crediting its longevity to steady customer support and a genuine sense of community built around fiber arts. The store carries knitting, crochet, and weaving supplies, including locally dyed yarns and tools, and it runs an active education program that includes group classes for ages 13 and up, private lessons, and private workshops. A recent addition to the class lineup is needle felting instruction, reflecting the shop's ongoing effort to expand what it teaches as fiber arts trends evolve. Community is central to how Charlotte Yarn describes itself, with a guiding philosophy that "creativity thrives in community — and that's what Charlotte Yarn is all about."
