About Chesterfield County Economic Development
The county's economic development office recruits and supports business and industry locating in Chesterfield County, in north-central South Carolina within the Charlotte USA region. Services include performance-based tax incentives, grants, workforce training through programs such as REWARDS and ReadySC, and listings of available industrial buildings, office space, and SC Certified Sites and industrial parks, including a planned 105,000 sf speculative building. The office promotes the county's access to five interstates, CSX rail, Charlotte Douglas International and Florence Regional airports, and the Dillon Inland Port and ports of Charleston and Wilmington. It also highlights abundant, high-purity water from the Middendorf Aquifer recharge area and low local taxation. Recent projects include Cyclic Materials' $82 million rare earth recycling facility in the Alligator Industrial Park in McBee.
