About New Village Gastropub & Karaoke

A Korean pocha-style gastropub serving street food and late-night dishes such as spicy chicken feet, army stew, and kimchi cold noodles, alongside soju and other drinks. Private karaoke rooms accommodate groups of 2 to 16 and can be booked through OpenTable, with the full food and drink menu available in the rooms. Online ordering and reservations are offered. The restaurant has been named to Chicago Magazine's 50 Best Restaurants and Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S.

Co-owners James Shin and Brian Lee, both born and raised in Korea, opened the restaurant to recreate the late-night pocha culture they grew up with. James has lived in the United States for over 25 years and Brian for more than 15, and the two longtime friends found that what they missed most was not just Korean food but the atmosphere and connection surrounding it. New Village is their attempt to bring that night culture to the Chicago area for both Koreans and newcomers to pocha dining.
