About Red Rooster Overtown
Comfort food from Chef Marcus Samuelsson that draws on the roots of American cuisine and the culinary traditions of Overtown. The restaurant takes reservations, offers delivery, gift cards and private events, and includes additional spaces such as the Pool Hall and the Creamery. Art and music programming gives local artists and musicians a platform, and staff are hired from the surrounding community with ingredients bought from local purveyors. Michelin awarded the restaurant a Bib Gourmand in 2022 for food at a good value.
The restaurant was opened in Overtown by Chef Marcus Samuelsson, who describes wanting to share the neighborhood's story with guests. Its stated approach is to embrace today's Overtown through inclusiveness and community, including hiring staff from within the neighborhood.
