A boutique brokerage handling rentals, sales and commercial property in Brownstone Brooklyn — Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and the surrounding BoCoCa area. Sales listings include co-ops, condos, townhouses, brownstones, vacant lots and foreclosures, alongside investment and mixed-use properties with figures for investors and 1031 exchange buyers. Every person in the office is a licensed broker with more than a decade of experience in the neighborhood, and listings are marketed with video tours. The firm also offers broker coaching and one-on-one consultations.
The agency opened in 1981 at 165 Smith Street, when much of the commercial strip was boarded up. Founder Edward Gerrity, now Chairman Emeritus, had been a managing broker at a Fillmore Real Estate branch on Avenue U and saw long-term potential in Smith Street with its two subway lines and proximity to Downtown Brooklyn's courts and government offices. Peter McGuire bought a Carroll Gardens three-family through the firm in 2001, began working under Gerrity's license, earned his broker's license, and purchased the business in 2008. The office moved to 152 Smith Street in 2014, using designers and contractors who lived in Boerum Hill.
