About Zeal Coffee Roasters
A Tampa coffee roaster selling beans online and through a shop, with wholesale accounts and coffee subscriptions available. Founder Peter Davidson roasts in-house after sourcing imported green coffee, including high-grown, organically cultivated beans from family-owned fields in Honduras.
Zeal was established in 2013 by Peter Davidson, who first learned about coffee importing while working a corporate job when a future business partner proposed bringing in coffee from his family's fields in Honduras. Early roasting was done in a garage on a homemade roaster built from a modified popcorn popper, later replaced by a small 5lb roaster once Peter split from the original company to roast his own coffee. The name reflects enthusiasm for Christ, family and coffee. The first Zeal coffee bar opened in October 2013 inside Reveal Church in Lutz, Florida, through a partnership with Pastor Brian during the church's expansion.
