Farm, Ranch in Griffin, GA
Acre & Herd Ranch is a veteran-owned, Black-Owned sheep ranch in Griffin, Georgia, raising pasture-raised Katahdin lamb with a regenerative mindset. Its signature product is premium fresh lamb sausage, made from premium cuts rather than trims and sold seasonally by the 12-ounce pack and wholesale to restaurants, grocers and caterers. The ranch's Acre & Herd Solar Grazing arm brings the flock to solar sites across seven Southeastern states for vegetation management.
Founder Darnell Dugger traded corporate burnout for a simpler life after military service and a career in software engineering. He sold his home, found leased land in Spalding County through GA FarmLink, and taught himself first-generation sheep farming one lesson at a time. The ranch now pairs lamb production with solar grazing, and Darnell has told the story on Western Ag Network, at 1 Million Cups Atlanta South and at the Georgia Solar Farm Summit.
