About Anderson Bean Boot Company
Handmade all-leather cowboy boots built in a Mercedes, Texas factory, including set styles for men and women, youth and kids' lines, Baby Beans, AB Originals, one-of-a-kind custom boots, and replacement insoles. Construction relies on channeled welt stitching recessed into a groove in the leather insole for a low profile, plus a steel shank and wooden pegs for arch support, with materials sourced from U.S. suppliers such as Horween Leather, Wickett & Craig, Vibram and Barbour Welt. A signature toe profile distinguishes the line in the cowboy boot market. The company also handles recrafting and repairs, offers factory tours and gift certificates, and sells through retailers.
The company was created in 1989 by the owners of Rios of Mercedes boots to offer a high-quality, all-leather cowboy boot in the medium price range. Over more than 30 years the independent label expanded into custom boots and set styles for men, women and children, drawing on what it describes as over 150 years of bootmaking knowledge. It remains part of the Rios family of brands and builds every boot by hand at its Rio Grande Valley factory.
