About BAD Alfred's Distilling
A brewpub and distillery in downtown Chestertown serving wood-fired pizzas named for local streets, burgers, crab cake sandwiches and pulled pork tacos alongside local craft beer and cocktails. House-made spirits from the onsite micro-distillery include rye and bourbon whiskey, grappa, Jen's Gin, Cassinelli Girlshine apple brandy and Cassinelli Moonshine corn whiskey, sold by the bottle or mixed into cocktails. The dining room and bar face a glassed-in distilling room so guests can watch spirits being made, and live music is part of the mix. One-hour private tours and tastings with the brewer/distiller are offered by appointment for up to six people, and a private event space with bar, dining room and conference space holds up to 50.
Al and Jennifer Cassinelli established the business in 2018 as Bad Alfred's Distilling, and it has since expanded beyond small-batch craft spirits into cocktails, beer and wood-fired dining. The building was formerly a historic garage and filling station.
