Bernice's BBQ Bar & Grill serves smoked barbecue and soul food in Hazel Crest. The kitchen smokes meats low and slow and makes sides from scratch, including rib tips in pork, turkey or chicken, catfish, burgers, smoked wings, dirty rice and greens. Bernice's is a tribute to Bernice, a mother and matriarch. After she passed, her son built the restaurant to reflect her spirit. Her favorite color was red, and the dining room carries red walls, family photos and a rose wall honoring legends.
