About Bundts By Brenée
Bundts by Brenée bakes handcrafted bundt cakes "with love and a little bit of luxury," from timeless classics to bold, bougie flavors. The menu spans full-sized bundts for gatherings, mini bundts sized for sharing or solo indulgence, and bite-sized baby bundts for parties and gifts, with flavors like banana pudding, butter pecan, red velvet, strawberry cobbler, caramel apple, lemon, carrot, coconut, double chocolate, and pistachio almond. Owner Shalon Brenée Maxile has been baking for more than 30 years — a craft learned in her grandmothers' kitchens — and after decades of baking for family and friends as a side hustle, she left her corporate career in May 2024 to run the bakery full-time. Find Bundts by Brenée at its retail space at The Raleigh Market at the State Fairgrounds (4285 Trinity Rd), open Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 5pm, or catch the food truck, which held its grand opening in March 2025 and posts its schedule on the website. Owner Shalon Brenée Maxile learned to bake in her grandmothers' kitchens and first sold cakes as a young single mother to help pay rent; after years of baking as a side hustle, she left her corporate job in May 2024 to run Bundts by Brenée full-time, adding a food truck in March 2025.
