Business Black Consulting was founded by Stephanie Mhlanga-Fillyaw, a career and leadership development strategist. She began her career in retail operations, managing multimillion-dollar stores for Target and Lowe's, where she developed expertise in leadership development, professional growth, and operational excellence. She went on to work as a people strategist and recruiter with McMaster-Carr and later as a senior-level recruiter with McKinsey & Company, before launching Business Black Consulting in 2023 to provide specialized training, strategy, and search support. She has also supported the Kevin Chase Executive Search firm as a Sr. Associate-At-Large on mission-driven placements and maintains a strategic partnership with DRiWaterstone Human Capital as an executive trainer and consultant supporting inclusive search efforts. She holds a Master's in International Studies from the University of South Carolina, a Political Science degree from Queens University of Charlotte, and certifications in Lean Six Sigma from the University of Georgia and inclusive workplace strategy from the University of South Florida.
