About Chef's Cafe

A deli known for a hand-mixed, small-batch chicken salad made from a family recipe passed down for generations and sold by the pound; it is gluten-free and also carried at wholesale partner Pipkins Market. The menu covers deli classics, specialty sandwiches, subs, breakfast sandwiches, soups, salads, meats by the pound, and house brownies and cookies, plus rotating chef features announced by email and social media. Catering is available for orders of more than 10 people, ordered online with third-party drop-off delivery, and everyday delivery runs through Toast, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.

Chef's Cafe opened in 1993. Paul and Laura Miranda met while working for a Cameron Mitchell restaurant and moved for work through Florida, Connecticut, and Indianapolis before returning in 2017 to Laura's hometown of Cincinnati; they bought the cafe from one of Laura's extended family and became owners in 2022. Chef Paul learned Southern cooking from his Nana in Birmingham, Alabama, and Italian cooking from his grandfather's family, later working at Roy's Restaurant, Cafe Ponte, Mitchell's Fish Market, and Eddie Merlot's Steakhouse as a corporate chef. Laura built her career in hospitality at Mitchell's Fish Market and later in corporate travel management, and now runs the front of house.
