About Cresson Inn

A corner bar in Manayunk sitting beneath the train trestle on Gay Street, open late with a kitchen running Tuesday through Saturday evenings. The menu covers bar favorites like beef cheesesteaks, chicken Caesar wraps, wings, beer-boiled Maryland crabs, deep fried chicken and waffles, and the Big Yunker, a steak sandwich topped with mozzarella sticks. Dine-in and takeout are both available, and the bar has a jukebox, darts, and PA Skill Games. The business is cash only with an ATM on site.

The building dates back to 1911 and, during Prohibition, operated as a shoe store with a speakeasy below. The Sanders family took over the building as a bar in 1972, with Dan and Shirley Sanders continuing the family stewardship in 1981. Tracy Hardy and Nate Sanders run it today, keeping it locally owned and operated.
