D'Shaun Cooper relocated to Dallas from North Carolina after attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a bachelor's degree in music and entrepreneurship along with a business minor in real estate from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Before entering real estate, he taught high school math in both Fort Worth ISD and Dallas ISD, and he credits that teaching background for his approach to negotiating and defusing tension. He describes himself as a lifelong learner, teacher, and advisor, and was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in spring 2017.
