About Fat Katz Cuisine
A Cincinnati food truck and catering operation serving Cajun and Southern dishes, including New Orleans-style po'boys, pulled pork, jerk chicken and brisket. Services include pickup, drop-off catering and full-service event catering for gatherings large and small across the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State area. The truck appears at seasonal locations such as Washington Park and Fountain Square, and the business is a member of the Cincinnati Food Truck Association. It describes itself as Black-owned, woman-owned and veteran-led.
Founder Marvette began cooking alongside her great-grandmother and named the business after her mother. She co-founded Soul Chic Catering and Events in 2010 with a friend, building a boutique catering business before the COVID-19 pandemic and a corporate layoff, followed by the unexpected death of her business partner, changed her course. Encouraged by friends and by her partner Michael, she pursued the food truck idea, debuting in 2022 at the Cincinnati Music Festival, where the truck served over 600 guests and earned a return invitation the following year.
