Diner, American restaurant, Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA
A Los Feliz diner open daily from early breakfast into the small hours, serving elevated diner classics alongside less expected dishes. Signatures include panko-crusted Mac n' Cheese Balls with F-Bomb sauce, the vegan No Animal Burger on a housemade potato bun, the Biscuit Bomb, build-your-own milkshakes, and two shoyu ramens (turkey and vegan) developed after Chef Fred Eric's years of study in Japan. Other options run to shakshuka eggs, smoked brisket hash, pan pizza late at night, sandwiches and wraps, breakfast Sunrise Specials under $10 on weekdays, weekend bottomless brunch, artisan cocktails and wine, and a happy hour. There is a covered outdoor patio available for private events, delivery through ChowNow, gift cards, and branded merchandise.
Founded in 1997 in Los Feliz by partners Chef Fred Eric, who created the menu, and Fred Sutherland, who designed the space with him — both born in 1962, hence the name and the "Two Fred's Are Better Than One" lettering on the building. The room was built as a classic American diner with vintage leather booths, counter seating and Atomic-era touches, layered with original Wayne White paintings, a Space Age television nook, orb lights and assorted oddities. The restaurant says much of its crew has been there since opening.
