Hairdresser in Lewisburg, WV
A salon specializing in cutting and styling curly and wavy hair of all types, along with color and razor cutting. The focus is on thorough consultations, comfort with thick hair, and an inclusive environment where clients can chat or sit quietly. Products are chosen as non-toxic "clean" formulas with minimal or recyclable packaging, and the stylist pursues continuing education centered on curly hair.
The business grew out of founder Emily Sullivan's own search for a hairdresser who was intentional about products and unafraid of thick hair; unable to find the right fit, she built the salon she wanted. Emily came to cosmetology from a non-traditional path, earning a B.A. in Linguistics and Anthropology from the University of Iowa and spending about a decade in the local food movement, including co-starting a small organic garden and artisanal bakery in West Virginia. In beauty school she saw how underserved curly and wavy-haired clients were and how toxic many everyday products can be, and committed to specializing in curls and clean products.
