Zoo, Tourist attraction in Kingwood, WV
A seasonal zoo housing over 30 species of native and exotic animals, including chimpanzees, grizzly bears, orange and white tigers, spotted and black leopards, ring-tailed lemurs, baboons, giraffes, camels and African lions. Visitors can feed several of the animals, among them giraffes, camels, lemurs and pygmy goats. New babies are often on hand for photos. Exhibits are planned with sustainability and conservation in mind, and the zoo operates April through October plus weekends in November.
The collection began with deer, black bear, cougars and tigers and expanded over time into a much broader menagerie of native and exotic species. The 2026 season will be the zoo's 34th consecutive year of operation.
