About Jubilee Ranch

Jubilee Ranch is a small diversified family farm in Jackson, Mississippi, run by Primus and Earlene Wheeler. The couple raises cattle, hogs and goats, and the farm has also grown cotton, soybeans and corn. They grow soybeans with Primus's brother Michael on part of the land his parents originally owned. The Wheelers farm part-time on nights and weekends alongside full-time jobs. They used Natural Resources Conservation Service funding to fence the cattle and belong to a small-farmer cooperative through the Mississippi Association of Cooperatives. The ranch also hosts and mentors young people and local children who are curious about agriculture. The farm has no public website or storefront, so contact details for buying livestock or meat are not published.

The ranch's original owners carved the name Jubilee Ranch into the gate. Primus Wheeler, a fourth-generation farmer, grew up on a diverse family farm that raised cotton, soybeans, corn and hogs. He went into health care after college in the early 1970s. In 1986 he and his wife Earlene returned to the farm to clear its debt and make it profitable again. They have run it part-time since then.
