About Kanela Blended Drinks Coffee and Bites
A cafe serving breakfast, lunch, specialty lattes, made-to-order juices, and fruit smoothies across three area locations, including a drive-thru-only spot in New Haven. Smoothies are made with 100% real fruit, including skin, seeds, and pulp, and are gluten-free, lactose-free, and free of artificial ingredients, synthetic sweeteners, hormones, and GMOs; protein add-ins are rBGH- and GMO-free, and Swiig whole-food-based Core Supplements can be added. Coffee comes from Hubbard & Cravens, an Indianapolis specialty roaster focused on sustainability and traceability. Catering ranges from breakfast and lunch boxes to bringing the coffee trailer on site.
The business began as a coffee and smoothie trailer selling at the farmers market. A permanent location was secured at the end of 2019 with plans to open in early 2020, but COVID delayed the opening until November 2020. The stated focus has always been on people and on building connections with customers, team members, and suppliers.
