John M. Lally founded the firm in 1983 after leaving a then Big 8 accounting firm in Pittsburgh, having begun his career at the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of International Banking in 1978 and PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1979. What began as a sole proprietorship grew when his brother Robert J. Lally joined in 1993, bringing a decade of tax experience; Robert now serves as managing partner. The firm describes more than 40 years of practice and names John Lally, Randy Reynolds, and Edward J. Gorski as partners emeritus.
