Law firm in Atlanta, GA
The Law Office of Nigel Phiri, Esquire LLC is a personal injury law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, founded by Attorney Nigel Phiri. The firm represents clients in catastrophic injury cases, including auto accidents, trucking accidents, dog bites, slip and falls, negligent security claims, wrongful death, and sexual assault cases. Rather than taking on a high volume of cases, the firm intentionally limits its caseload so that Nigel Phiri can provide a higher level of personal engagement and attention to each client. The practice emphasizes a willingness to take cases all the way to trial rather than settling quickly, combined with the responsiveness of a small firm. The firm has secured significant results for clients, including an .8 million wrongful death verdict and over $9 million in settlements and verdicts in a single year. Nigel Phiri is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia, before the Supreme Court of Georgia, and in the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Georgia. Beyond casework, the firm is active in the Atlanta community through its Community Law Day program, which aims to provide members of the community with greater access to lawyers and legal guidance. Clients can reach the firm by phone or through its website to discuss auto accidents, premises liability matters, and other personal injury claims.
Attorney Nigel Phiri grew up in Zambia and South Africa before relocating to the United States, where he graduated from Roswell High School and later Georgia State University cum laude as a Pre-Law major, receiving the university's Phil Peters Scholarship. He went on to Mercer University School of Law, where he earned an Advanced Legal Writing and Researching Certificate, served as Student Coach of the Wagner National Moot Court Team, and was Executive Managing Editor of the Southern Journal of Policy & Justice. Nigel began his legal career in 2014 as an intern for State Farm, then spent several years on the insurance defense side at firms including Vernis & Bowling and Cruser & Mitchell, representing companies such as Nationwide, Liberty Mutual, Zurich, GEICO, and USAA. In 2017 he moved to plaintiff's work, and in 2019 joined Morgan and Morgan, the largest plaintiff's firm in the country, where he handled premises liability, auto wreck, and negligent security cases and was ranked #1 in settlement amounts for the Atlanta Premises Liability Department after obtaining an .8 million verdict. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Nigel opened his own firm in the heart of Atlanta to focus on a smaller number of catastrophic injury cases with a more personal approach.
