About Lee's Barbershop

Lee's Barbershop has served Southeast Washington, D.C. since 1986, growing from nine chairs to fifteen at its Ward 7 home on Bowen Road SE. Led by master barber Dr. Lee, the shop offers classic cuts, braiding, loc maintenance, beard trims, hot lather shaves, and skin care, with experience cutting hair for children on the autism spectrum. Senior and kids' pricing is available, and the shop welcomes walk-ins seven days a week.

Dr. Lee knew barbering was his calling by age nine. He trained through Chamberlain Vocational High School, finishing top of his cosmetology class, and earned his barbering certification as an apprentice in 1978. He opened Lee's Barbershop in 1986, and in July 2007 moved it to its permanent Ward 7 home, expanding from nine chairs to fifteen and turning the shop into a neighborhood gathering place.
