About Loveland Acres Farm

Loveland Acres Farm is a small diversified dairy farm of about five acres in rural Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It keeps Jersey cows, registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats, Friesian and Shetland sheep, pastured chickens and Muscovy ducks, all rotationally grazed. The farm sells eggs through seasonal egg shares and by the dozen, and donates one dozen for each dozen bought through shares. It also makes cow and goat milk soaps and lotions and wool dryer balls, and it sells grass-fed beef and lamb. Salamone sells at the West Allis Farmers Market. The farm runs children's programs, including Kids with Kids, Chickens & Littles, Tiny Foragers, Jammin' & Cannin' and Mini Milkmaids. It also hosts a Little Free Library and a certified Monarch Waystation, and it sends weekly 'Love Sacks' of produce to food pantries in southeastern Wisconsin.

Scarlett Salamone grew up around her grandparents' livestock farms in Illinois and moved to Elkhorn with her family in 2008. Chronic illness forced her to leave teaching. The farm started with six fence panels, three goats and a small flock of chickens, and it later added a Jersey cow named Clementine. As of 2020 it had been operating for about six years. In 2020 it received a Little Free Library through the Impact program, and in 2021 it became a Read in Color library and a certified Monarch Waystation.
