About Lucky You Natural Hair Care Salon

Lucky You Natural Hair Care Salon was built by two veteran stylists, Connie Hall and Tika Mercer, who joined forces at 9605 North Tryon Street to create a salon centered on natural hair education. Hall, a Master Stylist with 14 years of experience, is a Licensed Natural Hair Educator and R-Certified Sisterlocks Consultant who specializes in locs, Sisterlocks, and custom coloring; her interest in natural hair grew out of observing the negative effects relaxers can have on hair, which pushed her to help clients understand healthier alternatives. Mercer, a Master Stylist with more than 18 years in the industry, is a Licensed Cosmetology Educator who holds a cosmetic art license and a communications degree, bringing a teaching-focused approach to every client interaction. Together, the two built out a full salon offering natural texture services, protective styling, hair coloring, and locs and sisterlocks, while also training and building a broader team of stylists over the years. Beyond the traditional salon floor, Lucky You operates a "Lucky Suites" model, leasing individual suites to independent stylists who want to run their own book of business under the salon's roof, creating a hybrid space that serves both walk-in clients and suite renters. The salon is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with booking handled through the Vagaro platform. Both founders emphasize client education, encouraging people to understand their hair before choosing a style rather than treating each visit as purely transactional.

Lucky You Natural Hair Care Salon grew out of a partnership between Connie Hall and Tika Mercer, two veteran stylists who joined forces after Hall saw firsthand the negative effects relaxers could have on hair and committed to teaching clients healthier alternatives. Over the years the pair built out a full salon team and later added a "Lucky Suites" model, leasing space to independent stylists alongside their own natural hair care practice.
