About Magnificent Concessions, LLC

Fair food done properly, from a truck and a seasonal storefront. Funnel cakes are the headline and they are named: Original, Apple Crumble, Split Topping, Cinna-Bon, Strawberry Dream, Tuxedo, Red Velvet, PB Jammin, Peach ’N Cream, Bonfire and Tropical Island. Around them sits a long fried-treat list — deep fried cheesecake, s’mores, Oreos, honeybuns, Twinkies, PB&J, pickles and pizza — plus apple and peach pie fries, Yum-Yum pies, candy apples, hand-spun cotton candy, Italian icees, chocolate dipped bananas and gourmet popcorn. Drinks are fresh-squeezed orangeade, lemonade and lemonade floats, sweet tea, apple cider and hot cocoa. A second arm, Magnificent Soul Food Rescue, serves cabbage and collard wraps with pepper dip, crack fries, sloppy fries, soul and meatloaf bowls, baked and double-crunch wings, turkey sloppy joes, smoked neckbones and turkey meatloaf with the full slate of sides. For events they run a S’mores Station and a Funnel Cake Buffet priced per head, or bring the open truck on a minimum. Gluten-free and vegan options are available, most needing a pre-order. Events should be booked at least a month ahead.

Shaunetta and Charlie Burk started Magnificent Concessions in 2018 with one Italian Icee cart. More than twenty years into their life together, they call the food business the best adventure they have taken on. It has grown into food trucks, a game-season storefront and a second soul-food arm, Magnificent Soul Food Rescue, and all three of their children work in it — at a store, on a truck, or behind the scenes. Their stated aim is to add a venture each year and to create jobs for young people in their community.
