A 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on economic development and historic preservation in downtown Wauchula. Programs include facade, utility deposit, and continuing education grants for downtown businesses, a business directory, historic markers, and electronic Downtown Dollar gift cards. Supporters can buy engraved bricks in Heritage Park, volunteer, or join as investors and sponsors. Community events include the Storybook Stroll, run with the Hardee County Public Library and Friends of the Library, which places storybook pages in downtown business windows with a quiz and prize.
Established in 1995 and designated a Main Street community by the State of Florida that same year. The organization has worked on downtown change and preservation over the past 30 years.
