The company was founded more than 50 years ago by M. Maxwell Alperin, a broker and investor who ran a one-man operation out of a small office near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. His daughter Nancy began joining him on sales appointments and working in the office at age 12, earned her real estate license while studying government at Franklin and Marshall College, and joined the firm two days after graduating. The office moved to a three-and-a-half-story building on Pine Street, and Max Alperin died a year later, at which point Nancy took over the business. Her son, Max Regni, is now learning the business as a third generation.
