About Metro Styles Hair Salon

A private deluxe salon-suite building rather than a shared salon floor: Metro Styles II leases individual studios to licensed professionals, each running their own book and their own booking line under one roof. That gives the address an unusual depth for textured and natural hair — between the suites you can get sister locs, loc retwists, box and knotless braids, Senegalese and Havana twists, feed-in cornrows, crochet and wig installs, silk presses, Dominican blowouts, colour correction and trichology-led scalp care. Owner Valerie Willis runs the barbering and skincare side: straight razor head and face shaves, razor bump prevention, acne and hyperpigmentation treatment. Master Barber Meko Simmons covers fades, beard work and hot towel service, and there is professional and bridal makeup artistry and custom wig design in the building too. Metro Styles, LLC opened in 2008. In 2015 it relocated and became Metro Styles II, LLC, converting to a private deluxe salon-suite model at 3611 Spring Forest Road, Suite 104. Owner Valerie Willis — a master barber, instructor and former North Carolina Barber Board member, originally from Wilmington, Delaware — has run it through that transition, from a traditional salon into a building of independent stylists, barbers, braiders, loc specialists, wig designers, makeup artists and skin specialists who each keep their own clientele while working under a shared name.
