About Ouley Hair Gallery
Braiding and protective styling make up the bulk of the work: knotless braids in several sizes, box braids, Fulani and lemonade cornrows, stitch cornrows, feed-in ponytails, Senegalese, Marley and passion twists, butterfly locs, human hair loc extensions, and natural hair services. Extensions, wigs, treatments, haircuts, color, and children's and family services are also offered, with natural, scalp-friendly products. Bundled packages combine take-down, shampoo and conditioning or deep treatment, blow dry, and cornrows or twists. Two D.C. locations operate differently \u2014 the West Virginia Ave NE salon is run directly by Ouley, while the Upshur Street NW space houses independent stylists renting chairs.
The salon grew out of Ouley Beye's passion for hair and her move from Senegal to Washington, D.C., where she arrived in 2001. She serves as owner and lead stylist, managing the flagship salon herself. The second location was set up to give independent stylists a place to build their own clientele.
