He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1984 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida in 1987 at age 23, then among the youngest lawyers in the state. He has served on The Florida Bar's Consumer Protection Law Committee since 2001, chairing it from 2004 to 2006, and has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates since 1999. He speaks and writes on consumer protection topics and has appeared on ABC News Nightline and PBS's "Law Matters."
