About Sakira African Hair Braiding

An African hair braiding salon offering knotless braids in small, medium, large and jumbo sizes, custom ombré braids, micro minis, kinky, Senegalese, Marley/Havana, spring and passion twists, two- and three-layer feed-ins, kids' box braids and knotless, ultra flat sew-in weaves, touch-ups, and wash and blow dry. Color work ranges from natural shades to pastel hues, paired with fresh braids and styling. Stylists continue their education to keep up with current braid, lock, twist and color techniques, and the salon also advises clients on maintaining hair health between appointments. Appointments can be booked online and credit cards are accepted.

The salon began in January 2011 at 165 Maple Avenue, Suite 103-A as Sakira African Hair Braiding Salon, working with a team of braiders. Clients traveling from Fairfax, Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, McLean, Tysons Corner, Manassas and Centreville nicknamed it the "hair braiding machine" for its speed and professionalism. The owner describes more than twenty years in the business and having trained many of the area's other hair braiding salon owners.
