About Scrumptious Bagels & Cheesecakes
A bakery and lunch counter selling cheesecakes in flavors like New York style, pecan pie, turtle and cookies and cream, plus cakes, cupcakes by the dozen and dessert trays for events. The in-store menu rotates daily and includes hot toasted bagels, bagel sandwiches and schmears, chicken salads and soups, with bagels served until early afternoon. Custom cakes and dessert tables are quoted through an interest form or email, with a minimum of 10 days for custom cake orders and 48 hours for website orders. Full-size cakes are order-only, while weekly-menu cheesecakes can sometimes be picked up same or next day.
Owned and operated by Tahira Christensen, the business began about seven years ago as a home-based venture and moved into a storefront five years ago, opening in the middle of the pandemic. Tahira and her husband, known as Mr. Scrumptious, still handle most of the planning, baking and decorating, supported by a team of four. In 2024 Sarah, called The Bagel Lady, joined the shop to run the bagel sandwich and savory side of the menu.
