About Snow Your Roll
Snow Your Roll is a Charlotte food truck founded by mother-daughter team Akyah "Ky" Atkinson and April Atkinson, pairing Akyah's lifelong love of shaved ice with her mother's two decades of entrepreneurial experience. The two built what they describe as Charlotte's first shaved ice and egg roll combination business, a pairing unusual enough that Akyah says people raised eyebrows at the concept when the truck launched. Her response has been straightforward: customers keep coming back for one item or the other, and often both. The shaved ice program is built around 21 mix-in syrups plus 15 pre-made flavor combinations, running from traditional options like peach and cherry to more inventive flavors such as pink champagne and pina colada, with sugar-free and dye-free syrups available for customers watching sugar intake. Rather than a hard snow-cone texture, the ice is shaved soft and fluffy so syrup soaks in instead of pooling at the bottom of the cup. On the savory side, the truck fries up eight egg roll varieties, including a short rib Philly roll, imperial seafood, a soul food roll, truffle lobster mac, and a lasagna roll, giving the menu real range beyond a typical cheese-and-vegetable filling. The truck parks at 2730 North Graham Street and operates Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus regular appearances at Black Food Truck Fridays events. Snow Your Roll has been featured by WCCB and Axios Charlotte and participates in the Eat Black Charlotte campaign supporting Black-owned restaurants.
