About Swanson Family Farm

Swanson Family Farm is a 32-acre family farm in Hampton, Georgia, south of Atlanta. It specializes in grass-fed and pasture-raised beef, lamb, goat and pork. The farm keeps Georgia Pineywoods cattle, hair sheep and heritage breeds of goats and hogs, and says it uses no commercial feed, steroids or added hormones. The beef is USDA-inspected and vacuum-sealed. Customers can reserve bulk beef shares (eighth, quarter, half and whole cow) with seasonal deposits, plus half or whole hogs, lamb and a year's supply of chicken. Products are sold online, at the farm, at local farmers markets, through private chefs and at partner restaurants such as Sweet Potato Cafe and The Farmer and the Chef. The farm also hosts visits where children learn about composting and livestock.

Swanson Family Farm, LLC was established in March 2008 as Wayne Swanson's dream of owning a small farm to raise food for his family and friends. Wayne grew up in Woodbury, New Jersey, a few miles from the 10-acre farm where his grandparents, Claude and Artie, raised 18 children. He credits the lessons of his parents and grandparents as the foundation of the farm. Today the 32-acre farm is run by Wayne, his wife Charmaine and their son Jekhi.
