Attorney Roderick G. Allison founded The Allison Office in Creedmoor, North Carolina in 2003. He had been admitted to the N.C. State Bar in 1998 after finishing law school at UNC–Chapel Hill, and spent the years before founding the firm as in-house counsel to a non-profit corporation — which is why non-profit and church law has remained one of the practice’s deepest specialties rather than a sideline. He grew up in Kannapolis and was class valedictorian at North Carolina Central University in 1995, and he has stayed close to both education and his home state since: he serves on NCCU’s Board of Trustees, has chaired the N.C. Bar Association’s High School Law Career Conference, sits on its Lawyers in the Schools and Civic Education committees, advises the mock trial team at Granville Central High School and mentors students heading into the profession. His awards include the NCBA Law-Related Education Sweet 16 Award and the Historically Black Colleges & Universities Living Legends Award.
