About The Clocktower Kitchen + Bar

Upscale-casual New American cooking and craft cocktails served in a restored historic clocktower building in uptown Plain City, with a chef-driven menu built around seasonal, locally sourced and farm-sourced ingredients. Beyond the dining room, there is a seasonal patio with its own evening hours and an event space for private gatherings. Reservations, to-go ordering, e-gift cards, and monthly events are offered. The site notes it was voted Best New Restaurant in Columbus.

The restaurant occupies the Plain City clocktower building, whose gravity-driven Seth Thomas clock was built and installed in 1902 as a gift to the town from Samuel "Uncle Sammy" Taylor, who wanted a permanent replacement for the hotel bell residents had used to tell time. The owners set out to uplift the landmark while keeping its character, reopening it as a restaurant, bar and event venue. It was founded by Benjamyn Greig, Chelsea Whitacre and Shane Whitacre, who bring backgrounds in restaurant operations, fine dining and private-event catering; Greig previously lived in Plain City.
