About The Jazzy Fades
The Jazzy Fades is Jazmyne Norwood’s private studio suite at 512 Optical Lane, Suite 108 in Cary — one chair, one client, by appointment only. It is one of the few genuine one-stop shops in the area: a precise barber cut and skilled natural hair care from the same person. Locs are the largest part of the menu. Starter locs come three ways — coils, two strand twists, or instant locs by crochet — sized small, medium or large, from $150 for large coils up to $550 for small instant locs, with a consultation required first. Loc extensions start at $650 and block off a full day. Maintenance is priced by loc count: retwists at $70 under 50 locs, $90 under 100 and $115 under 150, with crochet root-only retwists at $220, $280 and $340 respectively — recommended every 8–12 weeks for clients who wash often. Complete loc reconstruction and loc combining ($500) handle free forms, broken locs and missing parting grids; she is Kris McDred certified for that work. Wick root maintenance is $200, done with crochet only — no rubber bands, no thread. Barbering runs from a $30 basic line up through baldy and beard at $50 basic or $75 elite, teen cuts at $40 and $60, and big chop transformations from $85. Natural hair covers box braids and two strand twists in three sizes, kamikaze twists at $100, invisible locs from $110, curl definition, colour and blow-dry styling. She also does hair replacement and lace units from $400, and facial cleansing and massage at $65 express or $125 deluxe. The studio has free parking, disabled access, WiFi, TV and a snack bar, and is explicitly LGBTQIA friendly. Buy Now, Pay Later, cash, debit and all major cards are accepted. Two limits are firm: no clients under 13, and no micro locs (more than 150). Deposits are non-refundable, cancellations inside 24 hours cost 50% of the service and no-shows the full amount, and appointments are cancelled 15 minutes after the scheduled time — though if she runs more than 20 minutes late, the client can cancel free. Book exactly the services you want, since appointments are time-blocked and anything unbooked cannot be added on the day.
