About The Metal Peddler, Inc
Laser-cut metal signs, key and leash holders, address signs, mailbox toppers, garden stakes, medal hangers, and fence post caps in copper and stainless steel, all made from American steel in a Western Pennsylvania workshop. Designs are organized around themes including dog breeds, cats, wildlife, military and first responders, sports, dance, city skylines, faith, and fantasy subjects like dragons and Bigfoot. Pieces get a baked-on powder coat finish for indoor or outdoor use, and personalized options such as house numbers, monograms, and pet memorial stakes are available. Custom work is taken by email, and the shop also serves wholesale buyers and offers a 30-day return policy on non-personalized orders.
The company was started in 2004 by Army veteran Jason and his wife Danielle, and remains family- and veteran-owned with a small team of craftspeople. Jason began working with metal as a machinist and fabricator and set up shop in his back yard, learning by hand over many years to shape and form metal. He describes his goal as reviving the master crafts largely lost to the industrial age, and sometimes incorporates salvaged materials from scrap yards and construction sites, including copper from a monastery built in the early 1900s.
