About The Rumpled Queen

A gastropub serving gourmet comfort food built on playful takes on American classics, alongside a curated list of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Dinner runs Wednesday through Saturday, with brunch on Sundays. Reservations and takeout orders are both available, and gift cards are sold.

Chef and owner Annie Gano is a Salem native who returned home to open the restaurant in the same space where her parents had their first date in 1970. After Salem High School, she trained at The Culinary Institute of America, cooked at Michelin-starred Naha in Chicago, and rose from line cook to Executive Culinary Director at Hogsalt Hospitality, where she led Au Cheval when it was named the best burger in America and oversaw more than 20 concepts in Chicago, New York, and Paris. She later served as Director of Operations for the Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group in Pittsburgh before transforming the historic Salem location into a gastropub with the help of family and friends.
