About Tradehome Shoes
A service-oriented footwear retailer carrying men's, women's, and kids' shoes, boots, and sandals from brands including Hoka, Brooks, Birkenstock, Asics, On, Merrell, Dr. Martens, Blundstone, Vionic, Aetrex, Crocs, and Ugg, plus clothing, socks, insoles, laces, and shoe care products. Staff are trained to fit customers in person, and the company offers 3D foot scanning through its RealFit program. Additional customer offerings include a rewards program earning one point per dollar, a military discount, free shipping on orders over $50, and free in-store returns and exchanges.
Tradehome began in 1921 when friends Al Mains and Cecil Ginsberg invested in shoe stores and coined the name from "Trade At Home," a pitch to shop locally rather than by mail order from Montgomery Wards or Sears Roebuck. The business stayed family-owned until 1999, when nine employees who had risen through the company bought it; it is now 100% employee-owned. It has grown from two stores in 1921 to over 130 in 2024. The company also served as an official sponsor of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, providing foot scans and footwear to athletes.
