About Ward's Restaurant

A burger chain built around homemade chili and homemade root beer. The signature hamburgers are the "Big One" and the "Little One," both dressed with the chili and a signature sauce, and the same chili tops the chili dogs. Other options include the Ward's Quarter with lettuce and tomato, salads and wraps, sweet potato fries and real fruit smoothies. Food is served from breakfast through the evening.

Brothers Richard and Ed Ward opened the first Ward's location on May 28, 1978, rotating shifts so one worked early and one worked late — for years some customers assumed a single owner ran the place. The chain built a following on its homemade chili and root beer and has grown to 39 locations.
