Comedy club in Brooklyn, NY
Captain Kirk's Comedy Lounge is a Black-owned stand-up comedy club in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, hosting touring and local comedians for ticketed live shows. The intimate lounge serves signature rum punch cocktails alongside a full food and drink menu, with a $20 per-person minimum and admission restricted to guests 21 and older. Owner Kirk Bibby built the venue around a family-feel, welcoming-to-everyone atmosphere, with shows booked through partners like Eventbrite and Parde.
In January 2025, a fire at an adjacent construction site badly damaged Captain Kirk's only six months after it opened, and owner Kirk Bibby's family ran a rebuild fundraiser to help get the lounge back on its feet. It reopened by appointment, still pouring its founder's signature rum punch and booking the same run of stand-up nights, with its own site still promising lineups 'subject to change' as the comeback continues.
