Southern and soul food served on Crenshaw Blvd. facing Leimert Park, with a menu built around baked, fried, and smothered chicken, fried and grilled fish, salmon, pork chops, meat loaf, turkey wings, and salmon croquettes. Specialty plates include oxtails and short ribs served with rice and two sides, plus gumbo, jambalaya, and spaghetti, alongside sides such as yams, greens, mac and cheese, cornbread dressing, and black eyed peas, and desserts like sweet potato pie, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. Poboys and grilled chicken, shrimp, and salmon salads round out the menu. Catering is a substantial part of the business, with numbered per-person menus for 40 or more guests spanning fried chicken, brisket, baked salmon, creole dishes, fettuccine alfredo, fajitas, and enchiladas, plus delivery and full service with servers.
The restaurant was established in 2011 and is family owned and operated, making its food fresh daily. Co-owners are Adriana Cortes and her father, main chef Vidal Cortes. The business has appeared repeatedly at the annual Taste of Soul festival, where it has added a Mexican twist to its Southern menu.
