About Delilah's Everyday Soul - Chattahoochee Food Works
Delilah's Everyday Soul is a soul food restaurant with a stall at Chattahoochee Food Works in Atlanta's Upper Westside, part of a small family of Atlanta locations that also includes spots in Midtown and South Downtown. The restaurant is named for Chef Delilah Winder, a Philadelphia-based restaurateur and cookbook author who was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Winder's love of cooking grew out of watching her grandmother prepare elaborate family meals and being surrounded by the influence of her father, a jazz musician. She pursued interior design and worked as a business analyst before shifting to a full-time culinary career in 1984, eventually building a respected soul food brand and writing the cookbook 'Delilah's Everyday Soul: Southern Cooking With Style.' The Atlanta locations are run by Winder's daughter, Delana Winder Reeves, and son-in-law, Jason Reeves, who brought the Delilah's name and recipes to Atlanta to share her Southern cooking traditions with a new city. The restaurant describes soul food as 'a language of love, history, and community,' built around the tagline 'Where everyday taste like Sunday.' At the Chattahoochee Food Works location, the menu features Southern comfort classics such as mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, and chicken livers, along with items like the Southern Belle chicken sandwich, fish and chips, and Swai fish, plus vegan chicken options for guests seeking a plant-based take on soul food staples. The Upper Westside stall is open Sunday through Thursday from 11am to 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm.
