Essence Candle Boutique — trading as Essence 4 You, LLC — is a candle and body-care shop in the Purple Building at The Plant, 192 Lorax Lane in Pittsboro, where it has been coming up on three years. The candles are hand-poured from soy wax and beeswax with cotton wicks, some with hemp, and the range is deliberately wide: 14oz black-container luxury candles at $23.99 to $25.99, embossed decorative jars, 4oz seasonal pours from $10.99, a 32oz limited edition at $42.99, and a North Carolina County series at $30 that names each candle for a county. Wax melts, diffusers, essential oils, soy solid colognes and candle accessories round out the shelf. The body side is substantial too — herbal-infused lavender body lotion at $32.99, 11.5oz body butter cream at $36.99, all-natural deodorant, exotic herbal sugar scrubs, sprays, a flaxseed hair butter, and a black box pedicure kit at $74.99. Gift boxes run from bridal self-care sets at $82.99 to $124.99 down to event favours, and there are hand-crafted vases, painted wine bottles, wall hangings and wedding decorations besides. Two subscription clubs run alongside the shop — the Candle Lover Club and the Essence Body Collection Club, from $50 for a two-candle plan to $110 for four — plus a loyalty programme and gift cards. The boutique also teaches. Candle-making and soap-making workshops run onsite at the shop or offsite at your venue, aimed at companies, churches and private events, and private "Pour Your Own Bliss" candle experiences can be booked.
