Garner Law PLLC is a Washington, DC and Maryland law firm founded and led by Keisha A. Garner, Esq., who serves as Owner and Managing Member. The firm focuses on family law, estate planning, probate, adoption, and small business matters, describing itself as "a new generation law firm, taking advantage of all available technologies and resources to resolve cases in a timely, cost effective and client-focused manner." Keisha earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she received the Dean's Award and served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law, after completing her undergraduate degree at Bucknell University. Before founding her own practice, she worked as an attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs Board of Veterans' Appeals, adjudicating appeals for denial of veterans' benefits, and later joined the Washington, DC office of Whiteford, Taylor and Preston as general counsel to nonprofit associations, where she litigated and settled hundreds of civil cases. Keisha's professional recognition reflects sustained standing within the legal community: she was named to The National Black Lawyers Top 100 and Top 40 Under 40, has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Washington, DC from 2020 through 2024 (after earning Rising Star honors from 2014 to 2018), and received the National Bar Association's Chairman's Award for Exceptional Leadership in 2020. She is also active in bar leadership as President-Elect of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, a historically Black bar association in the DC area, and chairs the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association's Estate and Trust Law Section. She is a Bar Foundation Fellow, a Leadership Academy Fellow, and a graduate of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel's Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute, and is admitted to practice in Maryland, DC, and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
