Three practices under one roof on South Main Street. Brows are the core: ombré brows by permanent makeup, which last two to four years with touch-ups, plus henna brows and brow mapping for anyone not ready to commit, and professional waxing. Inked by Journey is the tattoo side — custom pieces worked up from a client’s idea, plus saline removal. Browtiful is the retail and teaching arm: a brow product line sold in store and online, in-person Beginner PMU and Henna Brow + Mapping classes, and a "Becoming a Brow Boss" online course for estheticians. Makeup work runs from natural and bridal through to full SFX. Everything is by appointment; the shop is text-only on 833-526-7108, and consent forms and booking are online. Amara Nicole founded Journey to Her LLC in 2022, though as she tells it the seed went in years earlier. She had her son Jayden at eighteen, straight out of high school, and spent the years after that being mom, wife, student and employee without ever stopping to work out who Amara was or what she wanted. She always knew she had the talent; supporters kept pushing her to go out on her own; fear kept winning. Then came 2019 — the year she lost her father Sam, whose gentleness, jokes and quirks she says she carries, and the same year she got pregnant with her daughter Samina, named for him. The name of the business is the point: the journey to her. She founded it for herself and for the young mothers who had to push through their darkest stretch, find themselves, and learn to love who they are without disowning where they have been. She credits her children, her husband, her mother, her mother-in-law and her best friends for getting her there. In August 2023 she launched Browtiful, a brow product line and a masterclass programme for other estheticians, and she now hosts networking events for local entrepreneurs alongside the salon work.
